The girls and their coins.

Sofia has a princess piggy bank and has been collecting coins for awhile now. Every time I ask her what she's going to do with the money I get a different answer. She has said she will use the money one new toys, new shoes, new clothes... etc. The piggy bank was full, and I took the girls to Fry's to trade in their coins. Yes, their coins, because Sofia will share with Hazel :) And this morning before leaving to Fry's I asked Sofia what she was going to do with the money, she said "I'm going to save it to take Hazel to Disneyland because she's never been."

And this is how much the girls made! They walked out of Fry's with $42.10, just enough to buy souvenirs and Disneyland!!

Sofia & Hazel enjoyed "making" money this morning!

Hazel's first piñata.

Hazel had her first piñata and it wasn't at her own party.. But she loved hitting a piñata and then getting candy for it.

2 Sisters & 1 Red Wagon

Our little red wagon has been a real lifesaver. Whenever Hazel gets cranky in the afternoons we take her on a little ride. And since she has 3 teeth coming in, she has been very cranky lately. Luckily, I have my good helper Sofia- who happens to be a lifesaver too! She will drop everything and go on a walk with me. And sometimes she likes to pull the wagon. These girls make motherhood so fun! There is never a dull moment.

These two girls are my angels.

Hazel doesn't like anyone sitting on the wagon with her.. She is the one and only owner.

Ignore the "grumpy" face. Hazel loves her wagon!

Phoenix Childrens Museum- Spring Break 2013

The Mortensen's have a new family tradition- going to the Phoenix Children's Museum during spring break. My girls love that place! It was the first time Brian went with us and the girls just loved having him there- specially me. Hazel is 9 months old, but thinks she's 5 just like her sister. She just wanted to be "running" around with the other kids. Quality family time is the best!

Driving buddies.

On Saturday Sofia asked me if we could save our white Nissan Altima for her to drive when she's in high school. Brian and I just looked at each other and told her yes. She started telling me the driving rules:
-No texting and driving
-No eating and driving
-No doing make up while driving
-Have a driver's license

I told her those were all good driving rules. Then I told her the family rule is for her to drive her siblings to places whenever I can't. She thought that was a wonderful idea and started naming places Hazel might want to go to:
- Dowewita's and Nana's House
- Chick fil a
- Disney Store
-Walmart
-Target
-The park

The list went on and on.. Even though they are 4 years apart they are best friends. Sofia is always looking after Hazel and when I told her she had to drive Hazel around she got happy. She even said "That's what big sisters are for!"

Big Sister

 Big Sister-
My little eyes
are watching
All you say and do
And when I grow up
big and tall
I want to be like you
 My little ears
are listening
To everything you say
I am learning how
to grow up
To be like you
someday.
 So be careful how
you teach me
To be the person
that you are.
You're the best
friend that I could have;
You're my brightest shining star.
