You've Got A Friend In Me

You've got a friend in me
You've got a friend in me

You've got troubles, we'll I've got'em too
There isn't anything I wouldn't do for you
We stick together and we see it through
You've got a friend in me
You've got a friend in me
Some other folks might be
A little bit smarter than I am
Bigger and stronger too
Maybe
But none of them will ever love you the way I do
It's me and you

And as the years go by
Our friendship will never die
You're gonna see
It's our destiny
You've got a friend in me

You've got a friend in me
You've got a friend in me
Brayden and Sofia became best friends since they first met!
I was with them earlier today and hearing their laughs while playing inspired me to write this blog. I have countless stories I can tell you about these two. For example, last week we went to Target and Sofia tells Brayden "Let's go pumpkin," and Brayden says "I'm not a pumpkin, I'm Brayden Rogers!!!" It was funny. I know that when Sofia grows up and thinks back of her favorite childhood memories, she will always remember the fun times she had with Brayden Rogers.

The Graduation

Sofia graduated from preschool 1 to preschool 2. She's got one more year to go and then she will be with the big kids. I wanted Sofia to experience "graduation." It's very important for kids to set goals and one of Sofia's goal is to graduate from ASU, just like her daddy. Let's get her started! Here are some pictures from Sofia's graduation.

The Perfect Summer....

The perfect summer would be in a place called Los Mochis, Sinaloa, Mexico.

I'm missing Mochis too much right now.
Hopefully we go soon.

Mother's Day Celebration- Learning Foundations Style

Sofia LOVES school. She's very involved with everything that goes on in her classroom. When she heard that the preschool class was going to host a Mother's Day Celebration, Sofia got so happy because she wanted me to hear the songs they learned just for the moms. The celebration was May 6th, and I was not so sure about taking her. She was still fighting a stomach infection caused by rubber band. That morning she woke up and said she was feeling good, so we decided to go.
This is the lovely image Sofia made of me. Ms. Michelle said that Sofia did not want to color that day. I don't blame Sofia, for the longest time she went to school with an infection... poor girl.
Note- Sofia is the only 3yr old in this group. Most of the kids are 4 or 5. She's the youngest one in the group.
The kids singing to the mommy's.
Waiting for the flowers.
This is Sofia bringing me a flower. I had fun at the Mother's Day Celebration. Sofia makes every day special!!!

Easter 2011

A little late, I know. I've been too busy with unpacking, decorating, organizing, and on top of that doing homework. A lot of homework. This Easter we went to Kiki's (Katie) house. One of Sofia's most favorite places in the world. Here are some pictures of the Easter egg hunt. Enjoy!

She learned a valuable lesson.

It all started April 15th. We had been in our new house for one day, when suddenly, Sofia gets sick. At first we thought she was homesick because she had mentioned she missed her old house and didn't like her new house. Well days went by and Sofia kept throwing up. Every night she would wake up and she would throw up, A LOT! I took her to her pediatrician April 19th, and he said she had the stomach flu and to keep her on a diet. So I did. Days went by and Sofia seemed to get worse. My mom kept telling me to take her to the hospital, but I thought it was the stomach flu and that it was going to go away on its own. She stopped throwing up for 2 days and on Friday April 22nd when I went to my mom's house to pick up Sofia, I noticed Sofia's tummy was swollen and very hard. I was scared. It wasn't normal. My mom, Sofia, and I went to CHW Urgent Care Center. After X-Rays, the doctor comes into the room with a very serious face and says "Can you come with me, I need to show you the X-Rays." I was scared. Very scared. The doctor says "See that round thing in her stomach? We think it's a rubber band, or a hair tie." Apparently Sofia had swallowed a rubber band/hair tie and that had been making her sick for two weeks!!! (Brian and I couldn't believe it) The rubber band/hair tie caused an infection, but don't worry she was given antibiotics. She finally stopped throwing up and she is now eating food. After loosing almost 6 pounds and spending 3 hours in urgent care, Sofia learned a very valuable lesson. She will never eat rubber bands again.
