19 1/2 Weeks

January 28th- 19 weeks 4 days. I am so excited. Sofia is excited. Every day she is one step closer to becoming a big sister! More belly pictures to come soon :)

Sibling Super Star

January 28th Sofia had her Super Star Sibling Class. She enjoyed the class. The class was at Mercy Gilbert Medical Center, that's where Sofia was born and that's where baby will be born. Sofia picked out her outfit that day. She looked so styling. When class started the kids had to introduce themselves. They had to say their name, age, and what they were having. When it was Sofia's turn she said "My name is Sofia, I am 4 years old, and I'm having a sister." The teacher said thank you and then Sofia added "And the baby has a huge forehead." Everyone laughed. It was funny. Sofia was just describing what the baby's ultrasound looks like.
First part of the class was learning how to hold a newborn. Sofia did so good. After learning how to hold a newborn, the kids in the class learned about baby food and safety hazards. It was a wonderful class.

When class was done, the kids made a craft. They had to draw what their baby was going to look like. Sofia loves to craft!

Sofia wanted the drawing to be a gift for the baby. I noticed Sofia drew a binki. Sofia never used the binki. NEVER! It will be very interesting if the baby uses a binki.
After class was over Sofia wanted to try on her scrubs. She looked so cute.

Oh yeah! So proud with her Big Sister Certificate. She's more than ready!

Here's a beautiful close up of Sofia a.k.a. The Best Big Sister Ever

Old friends in dance class.

So last year in preschool Sofia had one good friend. Just one. One she would hang out with all the time. Her name was Trinity. Trinity is a year older than Sofia so she moved on to Kindergarten and Sofia stayed in preschool. Since Trinity lives kinda far from us I really thought Sofia would never see Trinity again. Well January 16th was Bring a Friend to Dance Day. That day I totally forgot about bringing a friend for Sofia. When we walked in the first person Sofia sees is Trinity. What a small world. Her mom knows of of the moms at the studio. The girls quickly recognized each other and gave each other the biggest hug ever. They were so happy to see each other. Both were saying "I've missed you." It was cute and funny. It was hard saying bye, but maybe we will see her again.

Finding old pictures....

The other day I found old baby picture of Sofia. Finding these pictures gave me all these mixed emotions. Time has gone by way too fast! Where's my little baby? But finding these pictures reminded me that Sofia has been a wonderful daughter. Sofia started running before walking. She was a little 9 month old. She looked so cute with her little chunky legs.

Sofia was always smiling. ALWAYS SMILING :)

Oh yeah, this was Sofia's first time at Taco Bell. She loved food. So cute my chunky girl.
And she also loved Horchata.

Model status? I think so!

Sofia no matter how old you get, to me you will always be my little girl.

Happily Pregnant

That's right. The Mortensen's are adding on. Baby #2 is a little girl. Or a least we think it's a girl. We've had 2 ultrasounds and on both the baby had her legs crossed. They got one shot of her and said "We think it's a girl." Think? I wanted them to be sure of the baby's sex. Oh well. If it's a girl then it's a girl. These pictures were taken when I was 16 weeks pregnant. Sofia is super excited. She wanted a brother but now she loves the idea of having a little girl to play with. Brian is super happy about his girls. Like he said "I will be loved by 3 girls." {His wife and his 2 daughters} Baby's due date is June 19th, but I'm really hoping I go early. Hopefully the first weekend of June.
17 Weeks Pregnant- showing a little more each day!

The KRT.

Lately little Miss Sofia Chanel has been studying a lot. In May she will be taking the KRT (Kindergarten Readiness Test). She is aware that this test will determine if Sofia is ready to start Kindergarten this year. Sofia was born September 29th and the Kindergarten cutoff is September 1st. Sofia is a smart little girl. Since she was a baby she showed she was ready for anything. Sofia walked super early and learned how to speak English in less than 6 months! Do I think the KRT will be a challenge? No. I know my girl and I know what she's capable of doing. Why are doing the practicing KRT? Because I want Sofia to be super prepared and I want her to pass the test with a really high score. I have really high expectations for my daughter. I think every parent wants their kids to be successful, so practicing for the KRT is not cheating or getting ahead. This year I started working in Sofia's preschool. I really like it. There are 5 other girls who will be doing the KRT. We work a lot with them because we want them to pass the test. The perfect score in some districts is 185. I don't know what the Chandler School District has but I want Sofia to pass with a high score.

I am confident that Sofia will pass her test with a high score. She's a very bright girl. Sofia has had 2 years of preschool. I think a third year will be boring for her. Oh Sofia! Four years ago when you were a little baby I had no idea where I we would be in the future. I didn't want to become the typical "teen mom" people see in tv. I want the best for you. You deserve it all. Sofia you can do anything. I know the KRT will be a piece of cake for you :)

Whoops

So while messing around with Blogger I accidentally deleted all my December and January posts. I am going to try and re-make these posts in the next few days.
