Kindergarten Graduation 2013

Writing this blog entry was kind of painful- I'm not hurting physically, I'm hurting emotionally.
My big girl Sofia graduated from kindergarten and is now officially a first grader.
{I'm still not used to saying I have a first grader}
Her kindergarten year went by so fast. She learned so much..
Sofia's kindergarten graduation was May 29th- here are some pictures

Here's my mom with her oldest grandchild. My dad went to the graduation too, but for some reason I don't have a picture of him with Sofia. My parents love her so much, they would do anything for her. I'm so glad they were there with her showing their support.

My brother and Sofia are the 2013 graduates!

Hazie wanted to graduate from kindergarten too!

Here comes my graduate! I love the smile on her face. She has got to be the happiest kid ever!

Shaking Mr. Smith's hand.

My sister in law Katie and her kids went to Sofia's graduation.
Sofia didn't know they were there. When she saw them she was so surprised and happy.
Katie's kids got so happy to see her too. Especiall Kamber. She kept screaming "Fia, there's my Fia!!"
And Sofia couldn't stop waving at Kamber and Brayden.

Oh yeah, my sweet girl was one of the few lucky kids that were chosen to speak at the graduation.
She memorized everyone's part just in case someone would of forgotten what they were going to say.

She was just barely tall enough for that microphone!

After the ceremony was over the students were taken to their classroom. We all walked back to Sofia's classroom to see her. When Sofia saw Brayden she threw her arms around him like if she hadn't seen him in over 10 years! Then Kamber went running to them and they had a "group hug."

And here's the best kindergartner teacher in the world! I bought Sofia the book "Oh The Places You'll Go," so that all her teachers throughout her school years would sign it and Mrs. Downs wrote the sweetest message to Sofia. I will forever be thankful for Mrs. Downs because she gave Sofia the best first year of school ever!

Sofia loves the piano.

Sofia loves to play the piano! She also loves to make her own music, and even though she only knows four notes she feels like a pro! She has been begging for piano lessons, and now that she's on summer vacation she just might get them.

I don't blame her her for loving this piano! After all, it is A GORGEOUS piano.

And how could I not make her wish come true, my BEAUTIFUL Sofia deserves piano lessons!

Our first piano.

We finally own a piano! A family in our ward is moving to Texas and they were selling this awesome piano. I told Brian about it and we went to go look at it- we liked the piano, we just didn't like the way it looked. The price they gave us on the piano was very good we just had to buy it {This piano might turn out to be an investment}. Two weeks before buying the piano Brian told me that for Christmas this year we were going to get a piano, so I guess Christmas came early this year lol. This piano might not be the best one out there, but we want it for our kids to learn how to play the piano- that's the main reason we bought it. We gave our piano some tlc, painted it vintage white and gave it a distressed look. I've always wanted a vintage looking piano and now I have one! Sofia and Hazel are so happy to have a piano in their house. My mother in law taught Sofia how to play the first notes of "I am a child of God," and Sofia practices that tune every day. Every single day. She even makes up her own music and says it's a Taylor Swift song and sings along to it. Hazel will step on her tippy toes just to reach for the keyboard and "play" songs just like her sister. When she's done playing the piano she looks for her audience and starts to clap. I can just imagine our future family home evenings with my girls playing church hymns... yes, this piano was an investment!

Finish Strong 5K 2013

I ran my first 5K this morning and I did awesome. I didn't get the best time but I did finish and ran the whole time. I was feeling so good when I was passing people and that is because I didn't even train for this haha. The first 2 miles were my best and towards the end I saw some of my young women who started before me and were walking towards the finish line. So I tried to encourage them and told them to run with me. Some did, and some just wanted to be at their own pace. The last half mile I just gave it all I had and I finished strong. This 5K was to support a family in my stake and I felt so good being part of this.

Here's me before and after the run. I got so many compliments on my top, yeah I like to workout in style.

Sofia was with me and she wanted to show me how strong she was- she's pretty strong for a little 5 year old girl. She said she wants to run with me next year.

Here's Sofia riding horses. She would love to own a horse someday!

Sofia loves getting her face painted.

Oh, and lets not forget the awesome superheros.
Hope you run Finish Strong next year!!
