Crazy trip to California.

I like to plan my weekends in advance because I like having things to do. Saturday when I woke up I knew my in-laws were coming back to their house. So the plan was to get the house clean, and take the girls out to lunch, and probably take them Halloween shopping. A simple phone call changed it all. My dad called me and asked if we could go to California to pick up my brother Angel. We left our house at 7pm on Saturday and got to Moreno Valley a little pass midnight. Brian drove most of the way. When we got to the hotel Hazel was up with tons of energy, she didn't go to sleep until 3 am. Sunday morning we left the hotel and drove to Inglewood to meet up with Angel. He had packed his "life" in 3 small bags, said goodbye to the family he had there and started his new life. On the drive back we decided to stop at the beach. So we headed to Huntington Beach for a few hours. The girls played and we all had a great time.

We had lunch at Ruby's right on the pier. That was fun, because we sat upstairs and had the most beautiful view {sorry, I have no picture to prove it}

This was Hazel's first time at the beach. She loved everything about it. The water was freezing cold, but she didn't care or complained, she wanted to chase every wave.

This weekend was great!

Sofia's Pool Party

Sofia will be 6 on the 29th. She's always wanted a pool party and this was her lucky year!
She only invited girls her age and they had a very good time.

Hazel was the only "little" girl at the party.

The only boy at the party- he was done being surrounded by a lot of 5-7 year old girls!

Sofia got so many new toys, she has had so much fun playing with the.

Best part of her party was when some of the girls were singing 22 by Taylor Swift.. these girls got a long way to be 22, and hopefully they stay good friends so that when the time comes they celebrate each others 22!

2 girls and a bubble bath.

My girls love house sitting Nana and Tata's house!

Picture Day

Sofia likes wearing her school uniforms... except for picture day.
Her choices were very limited, but she found a way to look adorable!

Labor Day 2013

It's finally September, Sofia's birthday month!! We started this month the most perfect way ever- going to my in-law's cabin for Labor Day weekend. Sofia loves going to the cabin, and still thinks it's her cabin. It's a little/long drive but my girls love it. And I do too.

On Saturday we stood in the corner of Winslow Arizona.. you know, just like The Eagles sang it in one of their most famous songs:
"Well, I'm a standing on a corner
in Winslow, Arizona
and such a fine sight to see"

I love this picture of Hazel- she's advertising her state!

Hazel makes a mullet look good!

After Winslow, we drove to Chocolate Falls. This was my favorite part of the trip!

Arizona sure knows how to give us perfect sunsets.

Sunday we went to The Petrified Forest. It was BEAUTIFUL.

And on Sunday, we met up with my sister at Snowflake Temple.

I love this man.

We're so happy it's September. I think we're all ready for the cooler weather, and Sofia's birthday!
